Noted as one of the exceptional small hotels in Central America, the Kawilal was designed to fit into the natural slope of the land and the forest. A guest enters the hotel room through stairs leading under the vegetated roof. Bathrooms can be open air, again, adding to the experience of living with the environment. The treetop pool and hot tub are private but visitors can easily access the Santa Teresita Spa, a Guatemala favorite for over 100 years.
