From local news station:

The University of Montana saw its highest enrollment numbers in 2023 that they had seen in over a decade, but with growth in the amount of attending students comes thoughts on housing.

A new residence hall will be breaking ground at the corner of Arthur and Beckwith in July or August of this year, with students moving in for the 2026 fall semester.

"We're making the decision to build this new residence hall on campus. And with no end in sight to some of the housing crunch, as we've seen in western Montana, University is just going to take aggressive action to make sure that we have that supply that stays ahead of demands so students can come to and be able to live, learn, prepare for their careers in a way that's affordable," said Dave Kuntz, the communications director for the university.

The new residence hall will be built right outside of Pantzer Hall among the other residential buildings for easy student access.

Although the layout is preliminary, the building will feature a mix of single and double rooms with shared community study spaces and laundry.

Parking has also been included with the plan, adding additional spaces to accommodate for housingWhile construction is taking place, parking lots in different areas of campus will be open.
