The new home and training center for the Montana National Guard is located in Malta, Montana.
Project was designed and registered as a LEED project before being delayed by construction funding gaps.
The project was constructed in 2019/2020 and has 33,000 square feet of space in the main building and 35,000 square feet of support buildings. Traditional spaces associated with training of soldiers and the daily operations of the unit are also incorporated in the design.
The Readiness Center project included construction of smaller support buildings, anti-terrorism force protection and improvements to the site. SMA Architects led the team with the Department of Military Affairs in order to achieve building and space design that meets the stringent 1330-31 programing and square footage requirements.
