Ellsworth Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located about 10 miles northeast of Rapid City, South Dakota, just north of the town of Box Elder. The host unit at Ellsworth is the 28th Bomb Wing.
On July 7, 2010, The 28th Civil Engineer Squadron building officially opened for business. The building has combined multiple 28 CE components which were previously divided throughout five different buildings and is estimated to cut energy costs by 40 percent.
