This five-phase historic renovation project took the commitment and collaboration of the County and City of Missoula. The building is the showpiece of downtown Missoula as the site encompasses and entire city block.

Planned by the design team and executed by craftsman from throughout the Bitteroot Valley, construction lasted seven years. The restoration of original materials alone makes this a model of sustainability, particularly since the departments housed there had to maintain full community services throughout the entire remodel.

The complexity of construction while the building still operated mirrored the challenge of documenting LEED for certification and recognition of an extreme effort in sustainability.
